Bipolar membrane(BPM)
BPM is a new type composite membrane of ion exchange.It usually consists of a cation exchange layer(N-type membrane).
Principle:Under the action of direct current electric field,water can be dissociated by BPM,and hydrogen ions an hydroxide ions can be obtained on both sides of the BPM. For the characteristic,BPM and other anion exchange membrane combined bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BPME) system,which can convert salts in aqueous solutions to their corresponding acids and based without introducing new components,the method is called BPME. BPME is not only used to produce acid and alkali,but also can be used in many areas, if it is skillfully combined with the monopole membrane.
Cation exchange membrane(CEM)
CEM is made of polymer material with selective transmission of ions.Cationic membrane is usually sulphonic acid type,with fixed groups and ionizable ions.
CEM is a membrane that can select cations,usually as sulfonic acid type with fixed groups and ionizable ions. For example,the sodium sulfonic acid group is the sulfonic radical and the ionized ion is sodium.Cation exchange membrane can be regarded as a kind of polymer electrolyte. For the positive membrane has a negative charge, although the original dissociation positive ions are dissociated into water molecules,the cation with positive charge can pass the positive membrane, while the anion not pass for the same sex repulsion, which is the principle of its selective permeability.
Anion exchange membrane(AEM)
Anion exchange membrane(AEM) is industry leader.
AEM also called ion selective permeable membrane, it contains basic active groups and selective permeability to anions.
Generally cations such as -NH3+、-NR2H+ or -PR3+ used as active exchange groups,and OH- is as carrier,which move to the anode through selective permeability of AEM.
AEM has a very wide range of applications, it is an important part of separation device, purification device and electrochemical components, in the chlor-alkali industry, water treatment industry, heavy metal recovery, hydrometallurgy and electrochemical industry and other fields have played a pivotal role.In recent years, with the development of new chemical power sources, the application of anion exchange membrane as battery separator in liquid flow energy storage battery, basic anion exchange membrane fuel cell, new supercapacitor and other aspects has also been concerned and studied.
